Policies

Check-in time is 4pm and check-out time is 12pm. Early check-in or late check-out may be possible pending availability and payment of $39 early/late check-in/out fee. Guests will automatically be charged a $39 for occupying the suite after 12pm unless prior approval has been obtained. A full-day rate charge will be assessed if the guest does not vacate their suite by 1pm unless given late check-out pre-approval. If the guest room is not available to extend, any guest items left in the room will be removed and put in storage for guest pickup. Guests will be charged a storage fee of $39 for this service.
We are a smoke free property, including your suite, shared spaces, stairs, halls, balconies, parking lot, and grounds. If you violate this policy, a damage fee will be assessed to cover the cost of all additional cleaning, loss of reputation, loss of revenue and loss of productivity. The Harvey reserves the right to determine what is amount is appropriate for this damage fee.

No occupants under the age of twenty-one (21) are permitted without an accompanying parent, spouse, or guardian. All reservations will require a government/state issued identification number and birthday. Photo identification is required upon request from any member of our team. Unauthorized individuals will be asked to leave the property immediately. Guardians must accompany their children under the age of sixteen (16) at all times on the property.

100% of payment is due ten days prior to check-in date. All additional charges will be charged at time of request and no later than check out. If your payment method is invalid, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation. Our team will attempt to reach out to the guest before canceling.

The Harvey requires 10 days’ notice prior to your scheduled arrival date in order to avoid a penalty of 50% of stay or a one-night charge, whichever is greater. This penalty will include normal state, local, and occupancy taxes.

The maximum number of guests for the suite is 2 adults and up to 2 children. The maximum number of guests for all other rooms is 2 people. Outside visitors of no more than two adults are allowed for brief visits as long as it does not take away from the experience of our other guests.

Minimum stays may be required during peak seasons or holiday periods. If a rental is taken for less than the minimum stay number of days, the guest will be charged the rate for the entire minimum stay.

Due to the historical nature of our building, built in 1797 and part of the national historic registry, our guest rooms are not mobility accessible.

Guest rooms will be serviced daily with the option to opt out of fresh linen and towels out of consideration for the environment.

Quiet time for all suites is 8pm until 8am. Please be considerate of other guests, especially in shared spaces, staircases, and hallways. Guests and their visitors who violate our noise expectations will be assessed a $150 noise fee and may be evicted from their suite and forfeit their reservation.

Please note that The Harvey corridors, property entrances, parking lot, and grounds are monitored with security cameras.

Each guest room is allowed one vehicle of moderate size. Any oversized vehicles or secondary vehicles may use the City of New Bern’s nearby Red Bear Lot. Please follow this link for more details and note parking rules. Guests will be required to provide vehicle information at check-in.

We will reserve for you the accommodation type selected at the time of your reservation upon the receipt of payment. By making the payment for this reservation, you agree to all terms and conditions of this agreement and rental details contained herein. Non-compliance with these rules and regulations may result in immediate eviction with no return of any and all payments made.

The Harvey is not liable to damages done to any vehicles or other personal property located on our property at any time during your stay.

Suites, guest rooms, and common areas at The Harvey are comprised of original art and décor, as well as high-end linens and electronics that are inventoried after each guest. Should any items be missing or damaged after your stay, you will be assessed the full replacement cost to include shipping, tax, and installation. Guests are responsible for all damage to the room, other than the ‘normal wear and tear’ which occurs during the term of their occupancy.

As a condition of staying at The Harvey, guests waive the right to dispute any charges that are made to your credit card regarding this policy. The Harvey will do everything within its means to notify you of impending charges; however, The Harvey reserves the right to bill your credit card for violations of our policies. Any legal dispute of the damages will be contained to the State of North Carolina.
